TITLE OF PIECE: Endless Column redux

CONCEPT STATEMENT:

With the Global Prismatic Spectrum in mind, we designed a column of infinite light. Inspired by Constantin Brancusi’s “Endless Column,” our design also recalls key characteristics of prismatic light with its constant interior reflectivity. Like Brancusi’s Column, this sculpture shares the same continuous modular elements. The four panels at the core of the model, extend up towards the sky; reaching towards infinity. The materials employed for this sculpture are mostly clear acrylics with a high-gloss finish. The resulting composition reflects light that is emitting from its layered base and glowing upwards. Its four panels are intersected by a series of circular acrylic dowels layered perpendicularly. The result of which is a tower representing the joyful light and hope of the holiday season.
